Today marks the first day of the annual Give-a-Thon known as "Teacher Appreciation Week" at our daycare center. (Nathaniel had his recently, too, but he only has one teacher and the whole thing was coordinated by our room mother -- much simpler.)
Between the two of them, Nick and Jake have six teachers. Plus, since we've been at this center since 2004, we consider the director and assistant director special friends, so we include them in our Appreciation every year.
I always try to do my shopping at the Dollar Store, which sounds cheap, I know. But eight gifts each day for five days adds up, and I try to do it as cost effectively as possible. The nicest thing about our Dollar Store is that some things cost LESS than a dollar. SCORE!
The center provides a "theme" for each day of the week, and you just bring whatever is on the list for your teachers. I sort of wish we could just do one thing for each teacher (like we do at Christmas), but I suppose the point is to give them something each day so that The Joy Lasts All Week Long. Today is just A Card, and here's what we're taking:
Hope they like them!
