So, it's Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week at daycare. Today's assignment is "Bring your teacher a flower."
The first couple of years we were there, we took each of their teachers a fresh flower. But the last few years, I've gone to the tried-and-true Dollar Store and found cute-enough flower pots and seed packs ... and the seed packs are just 10 cents each! So, each gift is only $1.10. Not bad! Here's this year's gift:
It's hard to tell in the first shot, but the copper pot is rectangular and has a cute floral print stamped into it.
While it's not going to change anyone's life, I'm just happy that it will provide more than one day of brightness ... a cut flower wouldn't last long, but if planted, these should bloom for a long time. Last year, a couple of the teachers planted theirs in the classroom so the kids could watch them grow!

You do such a great job. who cares how much it costs, it is the thought and teachers really do appreciate it!
Thanks, Kim! Sometimes it's just hard to guess what they might like, and the "assignment" of specific items sometimes makes it harder rather than easier!
What's on tap for tomorrow? We are doing schools supplies, so I got a Burt Bee's gift pack. It has hand sanitizer, lip balm and hand cream. It cost more than $1.00, but I only have two teachers to buy for.BTW I love your blog
Kim, Tomorrow is "sweets for the sweet," and I'm doing a candy dish with tootsie rolls in it. There will be a post on it in the morning, but I don't mind "spoiling it" to you. I mean, how many people could possibly even CARE what I'm giving for Teacher Appreciation Week?! You're one of the few, I imagine. :) Thanks for the compliment about my blog. I do enjoy doing it.
