All of this is really neither here nor there

1. This morning as I was changing my voicemail greeting at the office, I hit "record" and said, "Hey, you've reached Katherine in the Consumer Assets department. It's Tuesday, July 20th and I'm in the office today." Apparently, even though I change my greeting every day and am supposedly somewhat competent as a human being, I no longer know what day of the week or month of the year it is.

2. Note to The Black Eyed Peas: The title of your current hit, "I Gotta Feeling," actually translates to "I've Got To Feeling." "Gotta" isn't short for "got a." (As a matter of fact, it's one letter LONGER than "got a.") It's slang for "got to." As in, "I've gotta go," not "I've gotta hangover." And now you have forced me to type more quote marks than I ever wanted to type in one item in list format.

3. When people are in agreement with me, I'd REALLY appreciate it if they would phrase it that way, instead of telling me that they are in "agreeance" with me. Apparently at one time that was an actual word, but according to my dictionary it is "considered obsolete and a bastardization of 'agreement,' " and I couldn't agree more. I bet they took it out of circulation because it's entirely too many vowels in a row. I vote we lose it altogether.

4. I can't decide on a happy medium for number of Tweets in a day. I like READING more than one Tweet from people in a day (well, SOME people), but I'm not comfortable Tweeting more than once a day, myself. Somehow Twitter makes me feel more self-centered than Facebook or even having my own blog does. I wish I were a more interesting person so that I could Tweet things like, "Getting ready to rappel down the side of El Cap in Yosemite," or "Sitting down to dinner with Paula Abdul. Going to tell her to go on with her bad self for leaving Idol."

5. If all the other reality shows we've endured over the past decade, if all the episodes of The Hills, The Real World, Big Brother, Deal or No Deal, The Bachelor, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, if all of THAT was leading us to So You Think You Can Dance ... well then, my friends, IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. Season 5 just completed its run, and we only have to wait a couple of months until the Fall season kicks off. And if you have listened to nothing I've ever said before, listen to this: WATCH THIS SHOW. It has more heart, more talent, more professionals trying to make the amateurs BETTER than they thought they could ever be instead of tearing them down in front of millions of viewers, than any other show on television. You don't have to be a dancer, like dancing or even be able to stay awake at a dance recital to fall completely in love with this show. Captivating.

Katherine- you should twwet more than once a day! I love your blog, you crack me up! (If you don't remember who I am, I posted on your Target blog that I had been reading for quite a while- came from Patrice's blog- and just hate commenting.)

Anyway, my sister in law was on SYTYCD Season 2. Allison Holker? That's her- I hope you were able to see her, if not you should You Tube some videos. I might be biased, but I think she's amazing!

Enjoyed this post so much that I sometimes think about it when I'm driving around town - and I come up with my own list of 'stuff.' I can't exactly write it down while I'm driving, though, and my memory's not great (mommy brain and all), but I finally made it back to share two things that make me cringe:

"acrost" instead of "across"
"mute" point instead of "moot" (because if it's mute, I wouldn't actually have to sit and listen to/read it, would I?)

Since I'm in a hurry (naptime almost over), I probably have my own awful grammar - my apologies!

Ryan Leigh, I know what you mean. I have a looooooooooooooong list I should share sometime. This was just one that had happened to me that very day, so that's why I blogged about it. I like yours, though!
