Jake seems completely unaware that he isn't even 2 years old yet. He thinks of himself as at LEAST 4, and he tries to do absolutely everything that Nathaniel and Nick do.
Case in point: wrestling in the den. Their latest after-supper activity involves an afghan ... Nicholas or Nathaniel (in this case, Nicholas) covers himself up with an afghan and totters toward Jake.
In the blink of an eye, Jake has him down on the floor.
They roll around for minutes upon minutes, Jake using determination and sheer weight to keep his opponent down.
They roll some more, Nick still tangled up in the afghan, laughing hysterically. Laughing too hard to defend himself, really.
Finally Nick raises himself up far enough from the floor to kick Jake off.
Jake crawls a few steps away (Bakugan in hand, this time, it appears), only to start the process all over again 30 seconds later.
I can see why he feels so mature. There's no evidence to the contrary.

That is hilarious & cute! Boys will be boys no matter the age.
Had 2 daughters, so I can't relate. It's definitely a boy thing. What is it that makes boys just naturally hit trees with sticks, bats or throw anything that isn't nailed down? Guess it is just that gene thing.

You guys are SO right. Boys are definitely a different breed. Most of the rough-housing is just ingrained in them from the very beginning! Luckily our three are pretty tough. :)
He'll definitely benefit from that youngest child toughness--I too, had an older sibling who used to physically abuse me, and I am tough as hell because of it.
SET, All I have to say is, I'm so glad he hasn't figured out titty twisters yet.
