I was talking to a friend at work last week, and she asked me if I blew my bangs out to the side with a hairdryer, or if I used a curling iron to sweep them to the side.
I answered that I don't even HAVE a hairdryer (although I think we have one in the boys' bathroom for guests to use), because we have four boys/men in the house and don't need one. Internet friends, SHE LOOKED AT ME LIKE I HAD LOST MY MIND.
Then she said, "That is so weird, I think you should blog about it."
That statement rattled me. It made me feel like I needed to go back and add a postscript on one of my Irrationalities posts, to admit that Hello, my name is Katherine and not only do I not break the bindings of any of my paperback books, BUT I ALSO DON'T DRY MY HAIR WITH A HAIRDRYER.
I don't know. Is it that weird? I haven't used a hairdryer in probably 15 years. I shower at night after I jog, and I go to bed with my hair wet. I wake up, and it's dry. And if my co-workers are lucky, I try to tame it into some semblance of order before I go to work, but someone (ahem, MELANIE) will probably pipe up in the Comments and tell you that I don't try hard enough many days of the week.
So, Internet:

How funny. I have high maintenance hair. I blow dry it almost every day.
I shower at night and go to bed with a wet head too. No time for all that in the morning. I spend more time on getting the kids fed, clothes on and out the door than on myself.
I would DIE without my hair dryer. And my hair straightener.
Just die...
Every time I do my hair I use a blow dryer, but with 3 kids running around it is rare that I get my hair done and not just pulled back into a pony tail, so I voted "occasionally!" I wish I used it more, but that is just the reality!
I could never go out of the house without blowdrying my hair. On days that no one will see me, I let it dry naturally. My DH even gives me strange looks if he sees it natural.
If I don't blow dry my hair, it looks like a rat's nest. I respect your ability to mangle yours in the morning. Me? Well, I lack that ability, so I take the easy way out and use the blow dryer!
funny! I only dry and straighten my hair occasionally, I have thick hair and it takes forever, and I don't want to get up 30 minutes earlier every morning!
thanks for visiting my blog :)
Seriously? My hair looks like C.R.A.P. if it isn't blown dry every morning after I shower....I must say: Jealous!
As I read, I thought, "OMG, I don't remember saying anything about her hair dryer! I already know that she doesn't dry her hair..." but, thanks for mentioning that I'm there for you when your undried hairs don't fall into place!
*and I'm glad that someone else out there makes the same type of comments I do (about your weirdness - which I LOVE). :-)
Mel, it was BRANDI this time.
But I have to say, I feel rather vindicated by the fact that at least some of my readers don't dry their hair, either!
