Since Wednesday was always my come-clean day with you guys while I was on Jenny Craig, I thought I'd give you an update on how it's been going since I Left The Fold several weeks ago. How about a list? I LOVE LISTS.
1. I gained four pounds over Thanksgiving. I BLAME DEBBIE AND HER SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE. Also, all the other yellow and white foods that I couldn't keep my hands off of.
2. Four pounds is a VICTORY for me. That's probably the least I've gained over Thanksgiving in a decade. Have you met me? I love food that is bad for me.
3. In the weeks since Thanksgiving, I've re-dropped three of the four pounds. So instead of having lost 25 total since July, I've lost 24. I'm OK with that.
4. My head is having a lot of trouble convincing my mouth to eat all the Jenny food I stored up like a squirrel in my deep freezer. I have good intentions, but cheap Mexican food keeps winning.
5. We went out to eat with my parents three times while they were here last weekend. Therefore, I expected to have gained weight this week ... but I didn't. My rule is to eat only half of what's on my plate when I eat out, and I guess it worked. BUT DA*N IF I DIDN'T WANT THE OTHER HALF OF THAT CHEESEBURGER ON SUNDAY.
So, you know, I'm still working at it, albeit not in as hardcore a fashion as I was a month ago. The expense wasn't practical, and mentally I was having a tough time. Four months of nothing but boxed meals will really get to you, even if you're losing weight.
Still, 24 pounds is pretty good. Go, me!

Congratulations! I too have been working on a goal... 30 lbs by Jan 1. I have been doing it on my own & mostly by portion control. I have lost 21 lbs since Sept 15, but have lots more to lose than you do. I am wanting to lose at least another 60 lbs. I doubt that I will make it to the Jan 1 goal, but considering I have done this well, I am not defeated. As someone who could be your mother, it only gets harder to get rid of the weight, the older you are! Celebrate...but without too much on your plate!
I told you at Thanksgiving and will say it again. You look great! And I agree... Debbie's sweet potato casserole is the DEVIL! (But soooo good.)
Go, you! I wish I had your determination!
Sew, congratulations! 21 pounds is QUITE an accomplishment! Thanks for the encouragement ...
Melanie, thank you for the compliment! I am still trying to lose some more, but I am always encouraged by people telling me that they can see a difference so far.
RLR, it's hard for ME to believe that I've been able to do it so far. I've had a few missteps, but I'm still working on it!
Wow! You're doing really well. Sounds like you and your willpower are really kicking butt!
