I've noticed a disturbing trend in recent years. And when I say it, it will sound like I wish we were heading back to the '80s and away from the current decade, but it must be said: I want to go back to powder blue, away from the new nature-inspired, organic elements.
But I say this not in reference to home decor -- lest all you other people who read the shelter magazines I'm addicted to run screaming from my blog. I'm talking about school picture backgrounds. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?
So many to choose from! How EVER will I make a decision? Impossible.
I'm torn between the babbling brook in the forest and the American flag superimposed on a fake brick wall. But the marbled linoleum is coming in a close third.
On second thought, though, I MIGHT want Nathaniel in his red-striped shirt standing in front of the cherry blossom trees in DC or posing in that bed of tulips under a bright blue sky.
OH SNAP. I've found it. School picture background nirvana. The purple starburst. BE STILL MY BEATING HEART.
Oh, my sweet, sweet, plain powder blue and gunmetal grey ... where have you GONE?

That's hilarious! Some of those choices are pretty ridiculous. We didn't even pick one and AJ came home with a plain white background. It looks like they all stood in front of a wall. :)
Wow, those are really terrible. Like, really. I think you better just take him out in the back yard and take your own. Yikes.
(But I'm sure whatever you decide on will look just wonderful. Ahem.)
The purple starburst is such a retro throwback!
I don't know if you guys noticed, but it says on the form that if you don't choose a background, the pictures will be printed with #1 as the default. I seriously just want plain blue! But there are no plain options. Ugh.
I do not order school photos anymore besides the class one for this very reason..well, and I love to do their photos anyway. I got sick of all of the "creative"background choices....it is so annoying!!!
