An open letter to three phone companies that have absolutely nothing to do with one another

Dear Cisco, Sprint and The VOIP Provider We Use at Home Whose Name Always Escapes Me:

It would be so nice if you would all make your Delete Message action in my various voicemailboxes a single identical number.

You see, to delete a voicemail at work, I hit 3. To delete a voicemail at home, I hit 7. And to delete a voicemail on my cell phone, I hit one of those two numbers.

And therein lies the problem. Up until a couple of months ago, I hit 76 to delete messages at work. But now that it's changed, I can't for the life of me remember the digits required on my different phones.

I do realize that you have customers other than me and that they may be fine with the numbers the way they are. But this is really all about me.

If you have any questions for me, I'll be at the ballpark.
