Say a little prayer for Jakey

I'd hoped I'd be able to write a post about Nathaniel's first baseball game for today. (I'm trying to give you guys a break in between baseball posts, so even though the game was last weekend, I was holding off 'til today before posting about it.)

Unfortunately, real life has intervened. I stayed up all night Wednesday night with Jake because he was having difficulty breathing, but it didn't sound like his RSV-related bronchial breathing issues. It sounded to me like croup.

Yesterday morning I took him to the pediatrician, and sure enough, it's croup. Poor guy. It seems like he just can't catch a break. So I stayed home from work with him yesterday, and he's on a cough suppressant syrup at bedtime, as well as Prednisone twice a day to help reduce the swelling of his vocal cords. I've also got a humidifier blowing directly on him while he sleeps, and hopefully the combination of all those things will help him get better.

Something the combination of all those things plus two hours at the ballpark last night DIDN'T help was writing a blog post for today. You will be happy to know, though, that I didn't take my camera to last night's game, so you will be spared the moment-by-moment recap of that particular game.

However, maybe Saturday or Sunday I'll be able to fill you in on all the Action! and Excitement! of Nathaniel's first baseball game ever. In the meantime, please send up some prayers for our little guy Jakey, who would very much like to be feeling better soon. Thanks!
