Last year I was all optimistic and thought that this year I'd do something crafty to let the boys' teachers know how excited they are to start school ... a cute little homemade gift for each teacher to say, "Hi! We're so happy to be here!"
DIDN'T HAPPEN. I count myself lucky to have even remembered yesterday that today is Meet the Teacher Day, so I had just enough time to run by Target after work and pick up a few things.
I had a lower budget than I did last year, but I hope they enjoy a few things they can use in the classroom as they kick off the year.
Each of their teachers will receive a Tide pen to help save her pretty skirt on messy craft days ...
A big bag of M&Ms for that late afternoon when she needs a little pick-me-up to get her through 'til supper ...
A pack of sugar-free gum to freshen her breath after she eats all the M&Ms ...
A cheerful striped notebook to stick in her purse or keep on her desk to jot reminder notes during the busy day ...
A couple of small bottles of hand sanitizer because the germs ... The germs!
And a pack of Wet Ones to quickly clean her hands or wipe off her desk as the need arises.
As much as I wanted to spend an hour putting something together, I just let the time get away from me this year. I'll say it again with the best of intentions: maybe NEXT year I'll get my act together and do something crafty.
But let's not hold our breath.

That is so sweet of you to take thoughtful goodies in for the teacher. It means so much to be thought of in that way. I'm sad that school is around the corner :(
Thanks for the floor love. I really appreciate it.

They will use that stuff, so I think you get and A+.I'm not sure that I would have even thought to do something for them.
I guess I need to remember that next year when C starts school.
Rene and Nikki, We love our teachers! I always want them to know that we have thought about them and I have prayed for them all Summer. :)
I think even a flower picked from your yard would be a thoughtful, much-appreciated gift on Day 1.
