Seven questions from my sister

When I posted the other day that "You people never ask me any questions," I really wasn't FISHING for questions. But when my sister posted some in the Comments, I thought I'd go ahead and answer them.

1. At what age do you feel you were physically your best so far?

I'd say high school, but that was just when I was thinnest -- I had a faster metabolism back then. So probably 29, just before I got pregnant with Nathaniel. I'd lost 25 pounds and was jogging four miles a day. THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE.

2. If you had to teach a high school class, what would it be?

Yeesh, what a terrifying scenario. Does it have to be an academic class? If so, English. If not, Chorus. Because quite frankly, no one would want me teaching their kids how to diagram sentences, but I could teach them to sing the s**t out of a madrigal.

3. If you could tell your 17-year-old self one thing, what would it be?

Spend more time with your girlfriends than with your boyfriend. They stick around longer and generally expect less in return.

4. Same question to your 25-yr-old self.

Suck the marrow out of these early-married years without kids. Travel more. Read more. Enjoy more tub baths. Once kids arrive, they'll take over your entire life. You'll be exceedingly happy about it, except for about 12 minutes a day. Every day.

5. Same question to your 35-yr-old self.

Drive up to Nashville to see Kyser. You just never know.

6. If you had to choose, would you rather only see or hear a movie?

See. You cannot HEAR Marky-Mark shirtless. I kid. (A little bit.) I am very visual, so as long as there are subtitles with the dialogue, I'd rather see the film footage. I can imagine accents and tones much more easily than I can imagine scenery and facial (and ab) features.

7. If you had to choose, would you choose no radio/music in your car, or no air conditioning?

THIS IS THE SOPHIE'S CHOICE OF AUTOMOBILES. As much as I want to say music, I can't. I couldn't live in Alabama with no air conditioning in my car. No.

Since the air in our van hasn't worked for two summers in a row now I can honestly say I would rather have music than air. It's uncomfortable, yes, but I can't live without my music.

Well, we don't have radio or air conditioning in our truck... and the dang CD player won't work either. I'd definitely love the AC to work.

Can't live without air conditioning. I would teach music and English and Spanish, along with basic human kindness and respect! (License in Elementary Ed expired long ago!) I loved diagraming sentences, but do they even teach that any more? (Try diagraming that sentence!) Madrigal groups and musicals kept me in school!

Rachel, I could have a heat stroke around here without AC, so I have to stick with my original answer. But I TOTALLY see where you're coming from.

Beckie, I didn't know you're proficient in Spanish. Go, you!
