As you know, I love Words with Friends and Hanging with Friends.
Recently I received a request to play HWF from someone I don't know in real life ... she may be a blog reader, since I put out the call for players in a recent post. (And I obscured her screen name, because the point of this isn't to embarrass anyone or make a mean accusation.)
The first several games I played with her, I lost. Because JUST LOOK at the words she came up with for me to solve!
Holy crap! I didn't even know what most of them meant. (Still don't. Too lazy to look them up.)
What was interesting to me after I FINALLY won a game was that she came up with totally amazing words for me to solve, and yet when she was guessing words I came up with for her, she missed a lot of (comparatively) simple ones.
Just made me wonder if she might be cheating somehow. However, I've been known to miss lots of simple words, because even if you start off with letters showing like __ OO__, you can waste a lot of guesses on words like WOOD, LOOK, NOOK, TOOL, FOOD ... and then it's actually BOOB, and you missed it because you never got around to guessing B.
It's not a huge deal, and I didn't say anything about it in Chat, but I do think it was odd. If it was "for real" wins all those times, I'm super-duper impressed!
