Just checking in quickly to let you know that Amelia is home!
I will be giving her my undivided attention, so I may not be able to post again until I'm sure she's completely on the mend, but I wanted to give those of you who aren't on Twitter the update that she's doing well.
They were never able to get an IV started at the hospital, despite their best efforts, and she's still dehydrated. (For those of you who aren't on Twitter, they stuck her 11 times, four of those times on her scalp, but her veins kept blowing so they quit.) In the hospital, we fed her every hour, alternating formula with Pedialyte, and I'm doing the same thing at home, just every two hours.
I know that the majority of you aren't on Twitter, and some of you didn't understand how to use it in my sidebar, so my next post will probably be a recap of the adventure so that you will get to see the pictures and a few other details. The emails I got were cracking me up from you guys who don't Tweet but who desperately wanted to know what the heck was going on.
For the record, I tried to Tweet as often as possible, because I've followed many a sick child on blogs I read (and most sicker than Amelia was), and I totally get why you wanted to know how she was doing and what you could do to help.
One highlight of our stay was meeting Melissa, who is a dedicated blog reader, works in the hospital and came by to introduce herself. (She's friends with Lindsay at Ole Miss Mom.) Hi, Melissa! She was adorable, and it was so nice of her to say hello. It brightened my day!
The other highlight of our stay was when I totally screwed up a drawing on Draw Something with HandyMom, also a dedicated blog reader, and it led to a series of events that had me laughing so hard I cried, and I had to apologize to the people in the waiting room with me because I totally disturbed them.
Also, many, many thanks to Faithful Reader Stephen, who lives in England and played Draw Something with me all night long night before last, when I was sitting in a non-reclinable chair by Amelia's bed and didn't sleep all night. It was nice to have something to do besides listen to all the other sick kids moaning. Thanks to ALL OF YOU who played any kind of game with me on my phone while I was at the hospital. Lifesavers.
Oh, and have I mentioned that I started another blog to showcase drawings from Draw Something? I just couldn't take it any longer. There HAD to be an outlet for some of those things. If you play, please submit any that you thought were hilarious, fantastic or otherwise blog-worthy. Here's the link: Draw Something Awesome.
SEE HOW WELL THIS WHOLE "UNDIVIDED ATTENTION" THING IS GOING? Yeah. I must go. (She's napping beside me right now.) Love you all.

It was not a problem, if anything it gave me something to do. That was my hand in day for a huge assignment and my life is now currently empty! EXCEPT FOR THE HUNGER GAMES EARLY SCREENING TICKETS TONIGHT cough. Glad everything is getting back to some form of normality.
Glad she's better! And what a small world running into Melissa...I wonder when we'll run into each other. :)
And my daughter is getting me to play Drawsomething...finally getting on the band wagon. :)
I've been praying, and diligently looking for information on Amelia! Hope all this ends soon!
What wonderful news that Amelia is home! Take care of that baby girl, we will be here when you get back. Still sending up prayers for her for a speedy recovery :)
So thankful she is doing better. The pics on twitter were just too pitiful. RSV has been rampant up here too. Such a nasty little virus.
