Twice.
The Incident Report said it was "unprovoked," so I'm not sure what, if anything, she did to make the other child bite her ON THE FACE.
But I can tell you that Nathaniel went through a phase when he was about 18 months old during which he would take his paci out of his mouth, bite a child, then put his paci back in and go about his business. OH IT WAS CHARMING.
So. I know as well as anyone that there doesn't have to be a reason for it, and that it can happen to anyone.
I just hate that it happened to our sweet girl. ON HER FACE.
And to add insult to injury, the child bit her again on her arm.
REALLY? I mean, REALLY. Amelia should have been steering far clear of that kid at that point, though. She shouldn't have been within striking distance. If I were she, I would have been on the other side of the room for the next couple of hours.
I had the older boys at karate last night, so Grayson took Amelia straight home and Gave His Baby A Popsicle.
As you can see, she was really no worse for the wear.
She enjoyed the popsicle and all the extra hugs and kisses so much, she might even ask somebody to bite her other cheek and arm today so she can keep cleaning up at home.
Grayson, on the other hand ... I don't think he's recovered yet. He threatened to send Nick to school with Amelia today to defend her honor.
When in doubt, send a brother.
But really, she's fine. She handled it better than the other five of us did.
I think she must have felt extra-sassy in her adorable chevron shirt, which I'm sure has distracted at least half of you from the content of this post due to its cuteness. (It and its coordinating blue ruffled pants came from Zulily.)
I'll let you know if her cheek or arm shrivel up and fall off. If you don't hear anything more from me on the subject, she healed up great and went back to normal.
