In case you missed it on Twitter (or in my sidebar, if you occasionally stalk my Twitter feed over there), this happened:
No worries. It was just the guest bathroom and the basement.
By the time I arrived, they'd already vacuumed most of the water up and had box fans running to dry up the subfloor.
Basically, the flooring subcontractor was removing the lovely fiberglass surround from the guest bathtub/shower and it must've snagged on a pipe. Or there was a puncture. Details.
The short version is, WATER. He and his son ran around looking for the water shut-off, and I'm sure they were in a full-fledged panic because -- as you will remember -- this is our REPLACEMENT flooring subcontractor and it was only their second day in our house.
Bahahahaha.
Honestly, I'd much rather it happen now than after the hardwoods had been refinished and I had all-new finishes in the bathroom and everything. Even if we have to rip out the subfloor and put down some new, it's not that big of a deal.
Three weeks from now? Could've been a lot worse.
